  One of a kind experience. I would do it again. The best time to visit is early morning (first cable car ride), as the monkeys would be having breakfast and that is a scene you don't want to miss. Priceless. A 6 minute ride with the cable car takes you directly to the Apes Den where famous Gibraltarian monkeys live. 18£ ride is worth every penny as the monkeys, The Barbary Macaques, are very lovely and used to people. Try not to make contact to the babies if they don't approach you because mothers tend to be overprotective and attack. Keep the sun glasses off as they might steal them and do not bring anything in plastic bags as they associate them with food. It is an offence to feed them. Highly recommended.

  The Apes Den is a location part of the way up the Rock of Gibraltar where the Barbary Apes tend to hang out. You have to love the apes as they split their time between basking in the sun, and stealing food from unsuspecting tourists. You should never feed them as they are wild animals so pay attention if you're eating a snack (better still don't eat anything near them) - they are very good at surprising people so that they drop whatever they're eating and the apes can then grab it. Great views over the sea from the Den as well.

  World famous. You either love the apes or hate them. They are wild animals and they do bite. Do not feed the apes.
